Franz Wagner is already an All-Star

Franz Wagner did not get the invite to San Francisco for the All-Star Game this year. But that should be a formality. He is truly an All-Star already.

Franz Wagner has made his share of history this season.

It is usually the job of the Orlando Magic's online reporter to make him aware of the history he is making. Often Wagner, ever understated and more cerebral, sits there and laughs.

"It is always T-Mac," he has chuckled on more than a few occasions -- the latest after he scored 25 points in the fourth quarter of the Magic's win over the Detroit Pistons.

The latest bit of history for Wagner came in the Magic's 112-111 win over the San Antonio Spurs. Wagner had 33 points, 12 rebounds and five assists in the victory, becoming the fifth player in magic history to have multiple games of 30 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. He joined a list in Magic history that includes only Tracy McGrady, Shaquille O'Neal, Nikola Vucevic and Steve Francis.

In the two games since heading into the All-Star Break, Wagner had 37 points and seven rebounds in a loss to the Atlanta Hawks. He added 16 points and seven rebounds in the win over the Charlotte Hornets. It marked only the second game with fewer than 20 points since returning from a 20-game absence with a torn right oblique.

These are all incredible things Wagner has done after suffering a major injury. He does not seem to be stopping.
