Jamahl Mosley had a much tougher job than people give him credit for. But through an injury-filled, disappointing season, he kept his team together to achieve something.

Jamahl Mosley had to be beside himself for much of the season. He was constantly trying to scramble and hold the things together as the team dealt with injury after injury.

Coaches know that players like certainty. They like certainty, too. They like knowing who they can turn to and which lineups work. They want to give the team the best chance to succeed. And that is hard to do with constant change.

At several points throughout the 2025 season, Mosley commented that it felt like he was coaching three or four different teams. Indeed, the Magic seemingly had to rediscover their identity many times throughout the season.

It would have been easy for teams to break apart. It would have been easy for teams to lose their identity and lose themselves. A lot of young teams would have broken apart and fractured. They certainly would have lost their defensive identity.

But that is not what happened.
